St Georges Court / 10 Bloomsbury Way – London & Regional Properties

Major refurbishment of an eight story office building (formerly MoD tenant) to include structural alterations allowing the new usage to have double height retail units on ground floor with offices above along with a new lightweight structure to provide an additional level of office space on ninth floor.

CDM (planning supervisor) role on same building during its previous reconfiguration and refurbishment in 2000.

55 Baker Street, London W1 – London & Regional Properties

The landmark office building – formerly headquarters of Marks and Spencer – was redeveloped as a major £130m 815,000sq ft. mixed use scheme – see downloadable project profile sheet.


GLA Information Pods – Greater London Authority

Health and safety support services along with coverage of CDM role for the installation and usage of the information pods across London during the Olympic period.

A453 Widening – Laing O’Rourke

Provision of CDM Co-ordinator Services on behalf of the design and build contractor Laing O’Rourke as appointed to them by the Highways Agency. Role was undertaken within the design period up to “Notice to Proceed”.

M25 DBFO Road Widening Scheme – Connect Plus Ltd

Part of consortium carrying out phased widening of M25 motorway including the A1(M) Hatfield Tunnel, M25 Junctions 16 to 23 – widening from 3 to 4 lanes in each direction and M25 Junctions 27 to 30/31 – widening from 3 to 4 lanes in each direction

The widening work undertaken within the existing M25 highway boundary and will included earthworks, retaining measures, bridge strengthening, drainage works, road pavement, utilities, gantries and motorway communications, road restraint (safety fencing), road lighting, street furniture, signs and road markings.

Work to the Hatfield Tunnel included:

Improving the emergency communication and escape facilities, fire points and cross passages; sustainability in materials and finishes with regard to structural walls and ceilings including secondary cladding and fire protection; refurbishment and alteration of existing pump stations and balancing ponds; Compliance with the Road tunnel Safety Regulations 2007 and Disability Discrimination Act including new lighting, signage and ventilation.

LFB PFI 9 Stations – Blue3

CDM Co-ordinator on project for replacement of 9 fire stations on a phased project – see downloadable project profile sheet.

Project “Pegasus”, Luton Airport – London Luton Airport Operations Ltd

Various construction and building works within and adjacent to existing terminal at Luton Airport.   Works included:   Internal alterations to existing terminal buildings, conversion of existing unused first floor area to retail area (airside), new aircraft Pier on existing pavement area, new Immigration building and access walkways, new two level transfer building between terminal buildings.   All M & E works with associated other services.

LUL Flood Mitigation

Section engineer on the installation of flood mitigation works to the Bakerloo and Northern lines as they pass under the River Thames either side of Hungerford Footbridge.

Excavation of the river bed and installation of precast concrete units, up to 400 tonnes, and associated piling and scaling prevention measures.

Hull Ro-Ro King George V Dock – ABP

Construction of a new roll on roll off berth in the River Humber of steel piles and cross head beams welded in-situ.

Barking Town Square – Phase 2 – Redrow Regeneration (Barking) Ltd

The continuation of the town centre development of Barking Town centre, also see Phase 1 project – see downloadable project profile sheet.


Alfa Laval Site – Carlton Properties

Redevelopment of a former industrial / commercial site into a mixed use scheme in West London adjacent to M4 elevated roadway.

Phase 1 includes partial site clearance and demolition with construction of new private and affordable housing units along with infrastructure.

Southmere Village – Gallions Housing Association

The demolition phase of existing residential and retail units from the estate. Followed by the construction of new homes for sale and rent, plus new community facilities including shops, library, health centre and community hall within Thamesmead, South-East London.

Asher Loftus Way – Jewish Care Trust

CDM Co-ordinator role on the provision of a new 48 bed care building within the grounds of an existing care home along with external road and landscaping re-configuration, amendment to existing buildings and all associated services and ancillary works.

Woking Homes PFI – Kier/Thames Valley Housing

CDM duties through from the initial bid to “preferred bidder” stage on the PFI scheme. The site was designed as part private sales to be sold by Kier Homes and the other part as affordable units owned and managed by Thames Valley Housing.

Granite Wharf, Greenwich – London & Regional Properties

Three phases of a major mainly residential scheme.  Construction and development of 667 residential apartments (private and affordable), office space, health & fitness club, crèche, and a hotel including landscaping and enhancement of public transport facilities in the vicinity of the site. Construction and development of a relocated boatyard. Re-establishment of dry docks and flood defence wall.

150 High Street, Stratford, East London – Genesis Housing Group

Major mixed use development close to Stratford Town Centre and opposite the Olympics site on the Waterworks River.   – see downloadable project profile sheet.

Peverel Retirement

Provision of CDM style service on notifiable and non-notifable projects to cover Clients protocols across the portfolio of their varied residential sites. This included setting up pro-forma to meet proposed works and Client liaison.


Centrale Croydon – Hammerson

Provision of CDM duties for the enabling works and proposed development of the existing shopping centre in central Croydon

County Square Shopping Centre, Ashford – ING Retail Estate Management

Co-Op Retail

CDM Co-ordinator service on a variety of minor refurbishments across the “SW and Wales” Region on food and petrol retail units. Also including a few larger stores and some new units converted from other previous uses.

Mitchells and Butlers

Provision of CDM services on a call off basis for the Client across a range of their public house retail units during refurbishment.
